Hi Jennifer! I thru-hiked the NC section of the ATC back in 2003. Apparently the ATC orvaleps the MST, but only for 3.5 miles in the Smokies. But I have hiked on the MST in Ocracoke and Cape Hatteras. Both are majestic turquoise blue water and miles of wild, undeveloped beach (my favorite kind). You must plan a visit. NC is calling you!
