| re: HOW LONG DID IT TAKE HIM??” A FISHER SAVED MY LIFE!”After my mother’s death in 1987 I was very depressed. I had lost faith in myself and in life and ended up farming my 2 teenage kids out to friends and going homeless myself. “Home,” as it were, became the woods of Phippsburg, Maine, where I pitched a tent and furnished it with a cot, a lantern and a camping stove. I kept my clothes in plastic bags. Well, I had been there through the summer and fall, and now it was late November. It was getting very cold and icy rains were falling hard.

| re: Titanicologist, Beatlelologist, Dennis Brainiac- I actually think its a little of both: savvy and sleazy. I mean, for them to put both ‘products’ together and think, ‘This is a match made in heaven’, is just another savvy way of advertising. They saw an opportunity and went for it. Sure, small pat on the back for the idea. I can’t say I’m going to run out and buy it. But, I can definitely see young adults seeing it on the shelves when they pop into the grocery store to get a few things to bring to a party. They are more likely to buy it, even for comical purposes, and bring it with them to show their friends.

| re: re: EnergyRe “People need a reason to change search engines”There are plenty of good reasons to switch from google.Google now tracks everything one does on the web for a lot of people:* those that use firefox’ built-in anti-phishing feature, it means every URL you visit goes to google first,* google syndication and doubleclick engulfment can cover pretty the entirety of an unsuspecting person’s web behavior* people have somehow turned the verb “search” into “google” , adding more to the omnipresence of googlePersonally I’ve long been using yahoo and other so-called “B-List” search engines.

| re: re: ArseniyJust adding to the ‘I don’t really watch TV anymore’ pile. Haven’t turned on the television tuner for over 3 years for watching live to air TV. I have a PC based tv tuner with an excellent EPG (NPVR) which records stuff on FTA as .mpg files which can be watched as & when needed. There is a laptop which uses the telly (LCD HD) as its monitor, connected via HDMI. VLC is used to play any files on the laptop. VLC is free & plays anything – i.e. no worries about firmware updates if any new codecs come along & it’s easy enough to upgrade the laptop with more disk space etc.

| re: Resemblance to...Review by Chris B for Rating: I’m surprised to see negative reviews. We’ve been using these for 3+ years now and have no complaints at all.We use them on our boat in the caribbean. the temps are 80+ w/ humidity at 80+ also. it can get hot and stuffy in the cabin. but not with this fan. it puts out a lot of air for a little fan. and the heavy bottom keeps it from flying around the cabin in rough water or falling over when kicked at night. We run them every night, all night. batteries last about 2 weeks at that rate (about 125 hours.
