MrI've always wondered what the effect of flooding the American market with product had on the overall popularity of the Beatles. Probably not much, as they quickly became - and remain - legends. But here in England every single they released after Love Me Do reached number one (except Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields which only reached number 2) which means that when we think of the Beatles it is in terms of their total domination of the charts, and their achieving the ultimate success with everything they released.

re: best song ever writtenI have to say that there are many women that I admire, but I have to say my that Grandma Gladys is my biggest inspiration. She hasn’t had an easy life. She grew up in a poor tenant farming family in WI. She only went as far as 8th grade because she went out to be a farm wife helper at age 14. She married at 18 to a farmer. She lost her second child at birth. She lost my Mom when my Mom was only 36. She lost my grandfather to cancer. She helped raise 3 foster kids and one mentally challenged adult.

Do sixth grade students need to learn the very arbitrary “1.5 times the IQR above the upper median” rule for determining whether a data point is far enough to be considered an outlier? Teaching this convention to sixth graders who are just being introduced to this sort of graph seems far too detailed and isolated from the larger focus of the data standards (and the focus of 6th grade, in general) to justify the time and confusion!The standard itself does not seem to require nor forbid this, but including it in this Progression seems to say that this convention would be fair-game on grade 6 assessments.

beatle maniacI've always felt that "Tell Me Why" would have been incedible song if The Beatles had performed it live, and spent years looking for some obscure bootleg which I hoped existed. Well obviously at this point I've given up on that, but do want to point out that the version of this song used in the movie indeed appears to have elements which are live besideds the audience. I say that because one day when watching the film I noticed that the opening lines of Johns solo vocal ("well I gave her everything I had") had an openess and separation which suggested that he was actually sing onstage but yes that everything else was mimed or canned from the album.
