She´s leaving HomeYou said: "Therefore, it appears that the bulk of the chorus - the "long sustained notes" (“sheeeee….is leaving…..”) and the answering melody lines (“we struggled hard all our lives to get by” etc.) - was written by John while all of the verses were written by Paul". I think Paul had a big hand in the chorus too, he clearly wrote the "shessss.... leaving home" part (the long sustained notes), and that inspired John to came up with the answering lines (the greek chorus, which is the countermelody).
